Groomer Qualifications

How experienced are your groomers?

Each of our groomers has different levels of training and experience. See the groomer bios on this site for additional information on their individual qualifications. We are happy to provide references of our clients with the same breed of dog as yours so you can get a personal recommendation. We have a very high client retention rate due to the skill of our groomers and the personal service that we provide. In fact, most customers either have a standing appointment or schedule their next appointment before leaving so that they are sure to get an appointment.

What kind of dogs do you groom most frequently?

The following list represents the most commonly groomed dog breeds at the Rub-a-Dub Dog Bath House & Spa. This is primarily a reflection on the commonality of this type of dog in our area.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Cocker Spaniel
Golden Retriever
Havanese
Labrador Retriever
Maltese
Miniature Schnauzer
Poodle (All Sizes)
Shih Tzu
Yorkshire Terrier
West Highland Terrier

If your breed is not on this list, it doesn't mean that we don't groom this type of dog. Rather, it's just not a common breed in our area. Our groomers are capable of grooming any breed. Clients with less common breeds, such as English Cocker Spaniel, Dandy Dinmont Terrier and Portuguese Water Dog, and those with mixed breeds of all kinds, have all been pleased with our work.

Can your groomers do "show cuts"?

Our groomers do have the ability to do many of the common show patterns but the time needed, and the cost involved and the complexity needs to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Do your groomers do a good job with Standard Poodles?

We have a half dozen regular Standard Poodle Clients who would be happy to provide you with a reference on our work.

Can your groomers do hand-stripping?

On breeds that hand-stripping is traditionally used for, we are capable of doing an entire dog using this technique, but the time and cost involved may be prohibitive. In some cases, a groomer may use a combination of techniques, including some hand-stripping, to mirror the look that hand-stripping an entire dog is designed to achieve. Please address your needs on a case by case basis if this requirement is important to you. If you require hand-stripping of the entire dog, you can expect the time and costs involved to be much higher.
