We know that your dog is a part of your family and that it's hard for him to be away from you. As a result, when he or she comes to the Rub-a-Dub Dog Bath House & Spa, we strive to create a positive experience for him and hopefully make him look forward to the next visit. The steps we take to accomplish this goal are listed below and are what we call the Rub-a-Dub Dog Difference:

  • We do not have any cages or crates for drying or containment. All dogs are dried by hand and we only take one dog at a time - unless you opt to bring in more than one from the same family together. We have toys, water and even a comfy bed available for the dogs while they are "hanging out." By not having cages or other dogs around, we do not have the usual barking and noise that are commonplace at other facilities. Drop in to visit our store at any time and see for yourself!

  • We do not require that your dog stay all day - or even half the day. We work by appointment only so your dog is only here during his or her service. As a result, we need you to pick your dog up in a timely manner when he or she is completed. We will give you an estimated time when you drop off and will even call you 5-10 minutes before your dog is ready.

  • All the products we use in the Spa are all-natural and free of soap, chemicals or harmful additives. We have several formulas to meet your dog's specific needs - and they all smell really good! We are also happy to use your shampoo if your dog has special needs.

  • The treats that we provide while your dog is here are all healthy and made with all-natural, human grade ingredients. These gourmet treats are even organic in some cases and of the same caliber as those that we sell at the Generation Dog Boutique. If your dog has allergies to any food, just let us know and we'll forego the tasty nibbles.

  • We feel strongly that you should speak directly to the person who will be grooming your dog - not a receptionist or answering machine. When you drop off your dog, you will meet the groomer and the two of you can discuss how you'd like your dog's hair cut.

  • We always put the dogs' comfort first. If we cannot achieve the cut you want without hurting the dog - such as may occur to remove some mattes - we will provide you with other options or allow you to cancel your appointment with no charges involved. We also will not use excessive force to make a dog cooperate. We are a spa - not a veterinary office. As such, if your dog strongly resists any service we will either contact you immediately, or skip the offending service and do what we can do. Resistance could suggest an underlying medical issue so we will always bring it to your attention so that you can seek the advice of a veterinarian.

Our approach to grooming costs more and requires more effort - but we think it's worth it. Not only will your dog look and smell great when you pick him up - but he will be happy and relaxed and thankful for the TLC. But don't just take it from us, ask our customers!
